Youth placed in group homes typically display behaviors that make it difficult for them to live in traditional foster home settings. Behavioral Health Overlay Services, monitored by licensed mental health professionals, are guided by the premise that structured, individualized services will assist youth in achieving a traditional foster home placement, behavioral stability, and learn life skills that will allow them to lead productive lifestyles in the future. By learning adaptive, pro-social behaviors our youth may ultimately return to a more family-like home setting. JYS also offers Targeted Case Management, where school attendance and performance, physical health, and psychiatric service needs are monitored and provided. All services employ quality assurance activities to ensure best practices are utilized.
